Knowing what AEG washing machine error codes mean is a first step to diagnosing the problem with your washing machine.

AEG Washing Machine E10 Error – Water Inlet Error (generic)

Description:

AEG washing machine E10 error is a generic water inlet error that is displayed to the user. Usually this can be a closed tap or a kinked water inlet hose. Sometimes in the diagnostic mode this error can turn to a E11 or E12 giving a more accurate cause and part of the cycle when the error arises. E10 is one of very common AEG washing machine error codes.

Action To Take:

  1. Check that the tap is not turned off.
  2. Inspect the water inlet hose for kinks.
  3. Check water level system for blockages.
  4. Replace water inlet valves.

AEG Washing Machine E11 Error – Water Fill Error During Wash Cycle

Description:

AEG washing machine E11 error is an indication that the machine is not filling water for the wash part of the cycle. Because this happens right at the beginning of the cycle, it’s best to check that the tap is open and there are no kinks in the water inlet hose. If the water is filling into the machine and the error still arises, inspect the water level system for blockages, the machine might not be realizing that it is actually filling when it is. If all these things check out ok, replace water inlet valves.

  1. Check that the tap is not turned off.
  2. Inspect the water inlet hose for kinks.
  3. Check water level system for blockages.
  4. Replace water inlet valves.

AEG Washing Machine E12 Error – Water Inlet Error During Rinsing

Description:

AEG washing machine E12 error is another water inlet error that indicates problems with filling the machine with water during the rinse part of the cycle. Check previous E10 and E11 errors to resolve the E12 issue.

Action To Take:

  1. Check that the tap is not turned off.
  2. Inspect the water inlet hose for kinks.
  3. Check water level system for blockages.
  4. Replace water inlet valves.

AEG Washing Machine E13 Error – Water Loss error

Description:

AEG washing machine E13 error indicates loss of water from the drum. This can often be caused by a hole in hoses or a drain hose that is positioned too low to the ground, this causes gravity siphoning of water from the machine. On a rare occasion AEG washing machine E13 error can be caused by a faulty water level pressure system. If the pressure tube has a hole in it, pressure from the water level system will be escaping and tricking the machine into thinking that it’s loosing water.

Action To Take:

  1. Check that the drain hose is not positioned too low.
  2. Inspect the pressure tube for holes.
  3. Check for water leaks from the machine.

AEG Washing Machine E20 Error – Drain Fault

Description:

AEG washing machine E20 error is an indication of a water drainage problem. This is error often happens due to the drain pump been too clogged up and water not been able to drain. AEG E20 error is one of the most frequent AEG washing machine error codes. To reduce the amount of times this error appears, it’s best to check pockets for coins, hair-clips or other foreign objects that get left behind in washing and end in in hoses and pump.

AEG washing machine e20 error

Action To Take:

  1. Check the drain pump filter and pump impeller for blockages.
  2. Inspect the drain hose for blockages and kinks.
  3. Measure the resistance of pump coil.
  4. Replace drain pump.

AEG Washing Machine E21 Error – Drain Fault During Washing

Description:

AEG washing machine E21 error is an indication of a water drainage problem that occurred after the wash cycle is finished and the machine tried to drain the water but was not able to.

Action To Take:

  1. Check the drain pump filter and pump impeller for blockages.
  2. Inspect the drain hose for blockages and kinks.
  3. Measure the resistance of pump coil.
  4. Replace drain pump.

AEG Washing Machine E23 Error – Drain Pump Triac Fault

Description:

AEG washing machine E23 error indicates a problem with the drain pump triac/relay on the main PCB. Unless you are good at reading circuit diagrams and soldering it’s best to get a new main PCB. But before replacing the main PCB, inspect wiring and check drain pump coil resistance to make sure there is no fault there.

Action To Take:

  1. Measure drain pump coil resistance.
  2. Inspect wiring harness.
  3. Replace main PCB.

AEG Washing Machine E24 Error – Drain Pump Triac Sensing Fault

Description:

AEG washing machine E24 error a main PCB fault. The drain pump triac sensing circuit has failed. Unfortunately the only way to rectify this error is to replace main PCB.

Action To Take:

  1. Replace main PCB.

AEG Washing Machine E31 Error – Pressure Sensor Fault

Description:

AEG washing machine E31 error indicates a fault with the pressure sensor. On a rare occasion it can also be the main PCB.

Action To Take:

  1. Inspect wiring harness for broken wires and loose connections.
  2. Replace pressure sensor.
  3. Replace main PCB

AEG Washing Machine E32 Error – Pressure Sensor Calibration Error

Description:

AEG washing machine E32 error indicates problem with the pressure sensor circuit. In most cases it will be the pressure sensor that has failed.

Action To Take:

  1. Inspect wiring harness for broken wires and loose connections.
  2. Check pressure tube for damage.
  3. Replace pressure sensor.
  4. Replace main PCB

AEG Washing Machine E35 Error – Overfill Fault

Description:

AEG washing machine E35 error indicates that the washing machine has filled more water than required. This mainly occurs if one of the water inlet valves does not shut off properly and continues to fill the machine with water. It can range from water filling very fast to a slow fill that is barely noticed. Since water inlet valves fail often, E35 error is one of very frequent AEG washing machine error codes.

Action To Take:

  1. Inspect the operation of water inlet valves.
  2. Replace water inlet valves.

AEG Washing Machine E38 Error – No Change in Pressure Reading

Description:

AEG washing machine E38 error indicates that the pressure reading from the pressure sensor is stable and not fluctuating during the drum rotation. Error E38 can be caused by 2 things, first is a broken or slipped off belt or a clogged pressure chamber.

Action To Take:

  1. Inspect the drum belt to make sure it has not come off.
  2. Check pressure chamber for blockages.

AEG Washing Machine E40 Error – Door Error

Description:

AEG washing machine E40 error is a generic error that indicates that the door is not closed or the machine is not able to lock the door. If the door is shut, then most likely it is a faulty door lock that is responsible for the E40 error. Because it is very easy to forget to shut the door AEG washing machine E40 error is a very common error to show up on the screen.

Action To Take:

  1. Make sure the door is shut firmly.
  2. Inspect door lock wiring.
  3. Replace door lock.
  4. Replace main PCB.

AEG Washing Machine E41 Error – Door Lock Error

Description:

AEG washing machine E41 error is the same as E40. Check above to solve this error.

Action To Take:

  1. Make sure the door is shut firmly.
  2. Inspect door lock wiring.
  3. Replace door lock.
  4. Replace main PCB.
